What did it mean to you to be selected for the show?

This show was really the first time I interacted with the design community at large. After studying with such a close-knit group of students at a small art school, it was rewarding to see the support and camaraderie I relied on extend beyond those walls into the industry I planned on spending the rest of my life with.

What is the best post-NVUV experience you’ve had?

I was fortunate enough to land a job at a design firm in Switzerland after graduation. The work itself wasn’t necessarily aligned with my personal aesthetic or career goals, but it pushed me way out of my comfort zone and helped build a confidence that allowed me to make decisions further down the line that got me to where I wanted to be, faster than I ever imagined.

What are you doing these days?

I’m the Creative Director at Little Digital Co., a branding and web design studio in Brooklyn, New York.

What is your favorite place to go for inspiration?

I find Dribbble to be a solid go-to for me. I just really appreciate the ability to see the more iterative side of a designer’s work, again mirroring the collaboration and community aspect of design that I love so much.

Anything else you want to share?

Just do what you love, forget the rest.

What did it mean to you to be selected for the show?

Having come to design from another field, even one that was related, being selected to be in the show was a bit of a validation that I was doing something right.

What is the best post-NVUV experience you’ve had?

One of the best is having recently gone to the AIGA National leadership conference, and finding out what else is going on around the country and meeting the people behind it. Being there and having a chance to be a part of it was truly inspiring and exciting.

What are you doing these days?

Working as an UX/I designer and acting as Director of Education for AIGA Boston

Where do you go for inspiration?

Reading, art galleries, and Instagram for graphic design, UI/X, architectural and product design, some tattoo stuff, space porn, food porn, typography…

What is the best instruction/advice you have received?

Never be satisfied.

Do you have any advice for current or graduating students?

Listen and learn from others. Never stop.
