Action Design Boston this Fall
We’re bringing new programming this Fall!
We have been working with the national network on some exciting new formats for this Fall, including:
Smaller more frequent discussion groups
Workshops where we can practice techniques and skill-sets
An upcoming Behavioral Change by Design Summit!
Stay tuned for updates related to the Summit. If you are interested in presenting your research or sharing expertise in a short presentation and informal discussion setting, then please reply to BehavioralSummitBoston@gmail.com.
We plan on continuing our more regular events too, which is where we would love some of your expertise. If you have any ideas for events you would like see, or are interested in hosting an event, let us know at Action Design Boston.
Thanks again for being a part of our community and see you soon!
What we're about
Action Design Boston is a group of designers, developers, entrepreneurs, economists and others who are passionate about helping people create positive change in their lives. We sit at the intersection of technology (UI / UX, data science), psychology (behavioral economics, positive psychology), and advocacy, and we focus on exposing our members to cutting edge tools, research, and practitioners in each of these areas so they can apply the latest learning in action design in their respective fields.
Whether the goal is to help people save more money, get in shape, cut down on electricity usage, or learn a new language, the idea is the same:
How can we use research in behavioral economics and psychology to help users build habits and change their daily behavior?
What is Action Design?
Action Design Network is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization founded in 2012 to promote the use of behavioral economics and psychology in policy and product design. The group has quickly grown to over 10,000 members with monthly events in cities across the US and Canada. Each month, speakers share research findings and practical lessons about how to help people voluntarily change daily routines and behavior to improve their lives.
Action Design also hosts the Design for Action Conference, started in 2014 to bring together the best designers and researchers from around the country to share their techniques.
Action Design is an all-volunteer organization. Our President is Zarak Khan and our officers are Justin Howell, Daniel Kahn, Sam Evans, and Robin Krieglstein. Our board is chaired by behavioral scientist Dr. Stephen Wendel.
